3. Technical access data

When you visit the website, your IP address, the date and time, the files requested, your browser, operating system and referrer URL may be processed in server logs. This serves to provide the website, keep it secure and analyse errors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention period: 14 days.

4. Technical service providers

We use technical service providers to provide, maintain and secure the website and for electronic communication. They may be recipients of personal data. Where they process data on our behalf, agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are concluded.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us by phone, email or via the contact form, we process the data you provide in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Enquiries sent via the contact form, including uploaded photos, are transmitted to us by email via a technical service provider based in the EU (Sendinblue SAS / Brevo, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France) and are used solely to handle the enquiry.

5a. Chat assistant on the website

On our website you can write to our digital chat assistant “Lena” and upload photos. We process your messages and photos in order to answer your questions and record your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise (legitimate interest in answering enquiries quickly). The chat assistant is operated by our technical service provider (Virtual Receptionist) on servers in Germany. To generate the answers, chat content including uploaded photos is transmitted to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., San Francisco, USA, or OpenAI Ireland Ltd., Dublin); any transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses. Enquiries recorded in the chat are sent to us by email via Brevo, like enquiries from the contact form. The chat history is stored technically for no longer than 24 hours and then deleted; enquiries sent to us are handled like email enquiries. Please do not share special categories of personal data (e.g. health data) in the chat.

6. External manufacturer links

Our website links to external websites of manufacturers in order to provide information about products, materials and design options. When you click on such a link, you are taken to the respective external provider. Independent processing of personal data may take place there; please refer to that provider's privacy notice.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Where technically necessary cookies or similar technologies are used, their use is governed by § 25(2) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Technologies that require consent are only used after consent has been given in accordance with § 25(1) TDDDG; the associated processing of personal data is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

8. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures. The website is provided via an encrypted HTTPS connection.

9. Retention period

As a rule, we only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes stated. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected. Specific deletion periods are stated for the individual processing operations.

10. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

11. Changes

We update this privacy policy when our data processing or the legal requirements change.
